Which previous knowledge do I need for the live online courses?
The previous knowledge needed for the individual live online courses can be completely different.
For the one-day Power Praxis Workshop are, for example, no specific competencies required. For the train-the-trainer courses are solid general PC competencies required, e.g. regarding text processing and picture editing.
Please take information about requirements from the workshop and course descriptions and flyers.
What can I do, if I don´t have headset and webcam yet?
In order to ensure sustainable learning experiences, all participants are bound to use headset and webcam.
If you don´t have webcam and headset yet, we are pleased to recommend you suitable equipment (without commitment).
What does "self-study" mean?
Self-study (in our case within live online courses) means work on tasks or themes of a course between the individual live online sessions. Self-study is comparable with „homework“. But unlike homework at schools our self-study tasks are developed for adult education. The aim of self-study is to deepen what has been learned and to prepare new subject matters.
Each self-study is designed in such a manner that it can be accomplished by all participants autonomously.
Example: Let us assume that the live online sessions take place every three weeks. In this case you will typically get self-study tasks in the end of each live online session. The written results are to be submitted duly before a given deadline before the next live online session.
What does "attended/supervised self-study" mean?
„Attended/supervised self-study“ means that parts of the self-study take place at fixed times attended by a trainer in the live online room. The course participants support each other in whatever they need to prepare for the course, and they are supported by the trainer, if solutions cannot autonomously be found by the learning group.
A trainer/supervisor/advisor is available during the whole attended self-study time. It depends on the course type, if some parts of the attended self-study are organised by the trainer/supervisor/advisor in a specifical way, e.g. in form of lectures, team presentations or exercises.
It is important that all course participants attend the supervised self-study regularly (required seminar hours, attendance records), so that as many competencies as possible are available for mutual synergic support.
How much do I have to provide for the self-study?
Volume and duration of the self-study depend on the live online course type and especially on the time lag between he particular live online sessions. There can be courses without self-study.
Are the LearnGalaxy courses ZFU certified?
In accordance to the statutory provisions only those LearnGalaxy courses are ZFU certified, in which the asynchronous part comprises more than 50% of the overall learning time. For all remaining courses (containing more than 50% synchronous training in the live online room) a ZFU certification is not mandatory, not reasonable and not common. (Example: a purely on-site training course, just like a purely live online course, generally does not need to be ZFU certified.)
In terms of the ZFU certification requirements, live online courses are legally completely equivalent to on-site (= conventional classroom) courses: live online courses with more than 50% live online quota – just like on-site courses with more than 50% on-site quota – don´t need to be ZFU certified.
